Challenge

• A client sought to develop a multimodal platform for multiple panels targeting the Point-of-Care (POC) market
• The client did not have a full product development team or lab and engineering facility. Trying to build a team from scratch would have taken years, and they would have missed their market opportunity.

Solution

• Built a full chemistry and engineering team within Arete and embedded client within Arete to give access to facilities, resources and administration.
• Designed a best-in-class sample preparation and PCR chemistry meeting POC targets and rapid turnaround needs.
• Designed a microfluidic cartridge and built a pilot line 
• Designed a POC instrument
• Delivered a complete solution, designing the assay, consumable, and instrument to meet POC cost, turnaround, and usability requirements.

• Cubit worked with Arete from the beginning and within 1.5 years built a multimodal platform. 
• Successful baseline study against OTM competitors at a research university.
• Follow-on funding.
