Challenge

 A client needed to convert their current liquid reagents to a dried format to improve ease-of-use and room-temperature stability. Their reagents contained high amounts of salt and protein leading to issues with lyophilization and the dissolution of the dried material.

Solution

‍

• Arete evaluated multiple lyophilization formats and ultimately developed a lyophilized cake that had increased surface area for improved dissolution. In addition, Arete developed a spray-dry approach that enabled portion of the salt to be added separately to the consumable, preventing unwanted side reactions.

• Successful development of lyophilization and dry down method to achieve usability and storage requirements.
